Spring has finally sprung. Here in Illinois this means a somewhat schizophrenic-like weather pattern of sunny and 70 one day to windy, rainy and 45 the next day. I’ve been taking advantage of the nice days as much as possible. Several days a week I get to coach my son’s baseball practices and games and enjoy being outdoors playing America’s favorite pastime. I’m sure you, like myself, notice after being outdoors it gives you that certain feeling….the feeling of having been outdoors! It’s a feeling of health, refreshment and a very natural sort of feeling, like this is kinda how things are supposed to be. On nice days when I’m working I try and go outside and eat over my lunch break as opposed to shoving food down my throat as I stare at a computer. To take 20-30 minutes to step away from the hectic work day and sit down with a friend/co-worker or two and enjoy some sunshine and Vitamin D synthesis makes a bad workday great. Take time to step away from work and whatever obligations are competing for your time and go out side to soak up some sun, go for a walk or a hike or catch a local baseball game. Your physical and mental health will thank you.
